This quote is never more true than when it comes to builders. Building a home has a many moving parts that need to be co-ordinated. Each step is dependant on the other, and if the organizational skills are not there, you will be frustrated, disappointed and could easily be paying more than you want. Quite frankly, if you need to end with a finished home that is on time and on budget, it is a MUST to find a builder with exceptional organizational skills.

At Contegrity we pride ourselves on being organized. We know that being organized includes having a PROCESS that will make your experience stress free and more rewarding in the end. It also gives you a clear understanding of what the next steps are so that you are not left in the dark wondering how your dream home is going to be a reality? Below is a summary of each step that we use as a guide from the concept to the completion of your home.




Step 1

Discovery Call

The first step in starting your custom dream home is a phone conversation. Usually this phone conversation isn't long, and it is used to gather your information, and see if we are the right fit for each other. Some questions that may be asked are; "What prompted you to reach out to us?"... "Have you settled on land yet, or where are you looking to build?"... "When are you looking to move in?"... "What style of home are you looking to build?" All these questions and more will be asked so that we get to know more about you and your project.

When we agree to proceed to the next step, we will e-mail a meeting link to book a time where we can meet face to face. I will also e-mail our more comprehensive Design-Build Process that really breaks down the next steps.

Step 2

Face to Face Introduction

In our next step we will meet face-to-face. This usually occurs at our office or in the comfort of your own home. We continue to ask more questions about your dream home, and really get a good understanding of what you would LOVE in your custom home. We also clarify and answer any questions you may have about the design process. We continue to explain how our architect, in-house interior designer and I collaborate on your home and really give you exceptional value throughout the design. Budget will be talked about in this first meeting in order to understand that the cost of the home will meet both our expectations.

Once we have a clear understanding of what you want and establish a rough budget, we will continue to the next step; Design Stage.

Step 3

Design Stage

This next step is one of our favourite steps. We can start to get your dream home on paper and really start to see how each room will flow into the next.
During the Design stage we spend the next 2 months working along side you. Once again, we will set up a time to meet to go through a highly detailed questionnaire obtaining answers to all your wants and needs. Questions like; "Do you want two sinks in the ensuite or just one?"... "Wood fireplace or gas fireplace?"... "Mantle and Hearth?"... "Rock or Brick accents on the exterior?"... etc etc... This usually takes about two hours. Once we have the questionnaire filled out and you have sent us all your inspirational photos, we begin drawing the first concept of your new home.
As we continue to go through the drafts of your home, our in-house interior designer (Melissa) begins discussing all the materials for your home. Questions such as... "What type of flooring are you wanting? Hardwood, vinyl plank, tile?"... "What would you like on the exterior of the home? Vinyl Siding? Fibre Cement Siding? Rock? Metal?" We also go through all of our cabinet and quartz samples, so with every decision that is made, it is made with complimenting selection in mind.
Contegrity will also communicate budget to you 2-3 times through the drafts that are developed. This gives you a really good idea on how much the home will cost and hopefully there will be no surprises once the fixed price in presented.

Speaking of Fixed Price, let's move on to the next step...

Step 4

Fixed Price Presentation

Once the plans have been finalized and the materials have been selected. We sit down with you (Coffee and Muffins) and present you a Fixed Price Proposal. That's right! It's Fixed Price! So as soon as you sign the contract, your price is guaranteed.
This presentation usually takes 2-3 hours, as we detail every part of your home, even the colour of your hinges on the exterior and interior doors. We do this, because we don't want you to experience any hidden costs, or to be billed any extra on move in-day.
If you decide to choose Contegrity, we will enter into a contract and sign you up to our Online Project Management System. Every detail of your new home will be in one place, easily accessible, 24/7. Once you are entered into our construction slot, we start preparing the build process of your new home.

Step 5

The Build

I know I said the Design Stage was one of our favourite steps, but this is our top favourite. The Build. Construction has now begun! Seeing the hole dug for the basement, the walls going up, and the roof on. It all happens so fast! Then our trades come in and begin doing all the rough-in plumbing and electrical for your home. Drywall goes on, paint on the walls, flooring goes down and the cabinets go in. It may feel like it moves really fast, but we are with you every step of the way.
Having you involved in our online project management system, we will be in contact with you daily. You will receive pictures of your project every day, with notes telling you what was done and what the plan is for the next day. You also will have access to our LIVE schedule. The schedule is constantly adjusting as the build is progressing through each stage. You will also see when each payment was made and how much is remaining, so you always know where the budget is at.
There is no stress during this stage. You have already confirmed your materials in the Design Stage. All you have to do is sit back and enjoy the process.


Step 6

Moving In

After going through multiple walk-throughs of your new home, and seeing the progress. It's finally time to "Move In"! Following our quality assurance checklist throughout the build, we will make sure nothing has been missed and the finishes are completed at a high standard.
As we walk through the home for the final time, you will see all the functions that make your home uniquely yours. We also go through our booklet on maintaining your home, explaining every part of your home and how to make sure it will last for years to come. This is not a goodbye; but a HANDOVER.

Step 7

Lasting Relationships

We are a family business. Once you build with Contegrity, you become a part of our family.
After moving in, we don't say goodbye. We schedule 1 month, 6 month, 9 month and 12 month visits. We go through the home and make sure everything is in proper working order. If there's an immediate issue, we or our sub-trades will come and fix it right away. At the 12 month visit, we come with our crew and attend to any deficiencies in the home, Ie. drywall crack in the corner. We fix these and make sure your home is up to standard.
We strive to make sure you are in LOVE with your home. Building a home, doesn't happen over night, and we LOVE the fact that we get to know you and develop a lasting relationship with you for years to come.
